Umoona Opal Mine & Museum
 
An original old mine on Coober Pedy’s main street, Umoona Opal Mine has been converted into the town’s largest single underground tourist attraction. A “must see” in Coober Pedy. An original Opal Mine with guided tours at 10am, 2pm and 4 pm daily. Genuine dug-out home on display, Historic opal mining interpretive centre, Aboriginal interpretive centre. Tom’s Working Opal Mine
 
Working opal mine situated just 500m north of the town along the Stuart Highway. Open 6 days a week in off peak season and 7 days a week in peak season. Guided and self guided tours are available at our large underground reception area. See modern day equipment in action while on a guided tour with our experienced tour guides.
